Day 107-114 I Km : 15.604 I Moshi, Tanzania

Moshi adalah sebuah kota dibagian utara Tanzania sekaligus pintu utama untuk mendaki gunung Kilimanjaro, berjarak sekitar 550 km dari Dar es Salaam. Perjalanan menuju Moshi memang menyenangkan.

Salam Adventure.

Day 107-114 I Km: 15.604 I Moshi, Tanzania

Moshi is a city in the northern part of Tanzania as well as the main door for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, about 550 km from Dar es Salaam. The journey to Moshi is indeed fun. We can enjoy the rural areas, the mountains are beautiful and cool and the road is smooth and quiet compared to the hot, chaotic and polluted Dar es Salaam.

Arriving in Moshi and Mount Kilimanjaro revealed him as if to welcome me. the mountain snow was clear and bright. Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest active volcanic mountain in Africa (5895 masl) as one of Tanzania's icons in addition to the National Serengeti Park.

Stayed a few days in Moshi, met Ferry and Gulcin (the couple while traveling around the world on motorbikes) who had been riding with Wheel Story in Swaziland & Mozambique in November 2017. Also in Moshi we meet SamatarXavier biker local and also have B & B accommodation and motorcycle tour. Finally we all stayed at the SamatarXavier Inn. We also invited SamatarXavier riding around Moshi's outskirts, offroad tracks as far as 180 Km invites us to see the plantation area, small countryside and also the 'lake of god' which is very beautiful set in Kilimanjaro but unfortunately Kilimanjaro is not visible because thick clouds envelop the mountain. But we were quite satisfied to enjoy this dusty and sandy road.

We have been satisfied for a week with enjoying Moshi, trying local food to meet with the Maasai tribe and also the arrival of special guests Mr. Nicolas, a Dutch biker who was born and raised in Yogyakarta until the age of 12 moved to the Netherlands before domiciling in Tanzania. He still remembered Indonesian and could speak Javanese too. At the same time, my two best friends Ferry & Gulcin prepared to climb Mount Kilimanjaro while I had to continue on to the west to the next destination, Rwanda. That morning the weather was sunny and cool, I continued the gas to Arusha, Babati, and followed the B3 road which would lead me to Rusumo, the Tanzania-Rwanda border city.
